Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Mater Academy serves the East Las Vegas community that is often under resourced and under served. Due to our demographics, we have large populations of Special Education and English Learner students. I have the privilege of working in different classes with both of those groups of students.

Having the right tools makes daily tasks much more effective and exciting for my students.

I work one-on-one with various of Special Education students. As they work in class I have to log in their support minutes onto a specific website to help all of our teachers and staff keep track of their progress and growth. Since I work with multiple students in different grades, the iPad will make it more easier to log in those minutes. Having the tool in my hands will not only help my students get the help they need, but it will be a fun incentive to allow students to track their own growth and see it visually.
