My Project

I work with Autistic, ADHDers, and other Nuerodivergent students in a middle school and we need sensory supports to help provide a supportive and sensory-friendly space. I'm creating an OT library of supplies for the classrooms with more weighted blankets and bouncy bands for chairs.

Overhead lighting can be very harsh and disregulating.

By having lamps we can provide softer lighting for those who need to work with more than natural lighting and this will help to accommodate different sensory needs at the same time.

Weighted blankets can help provide calming input to help with focus and regulation in the classroom, whilst bouncy bands on chairs can aid as a fidget.

By having sensory supports readily available in the classrooms we can help support students with developing self-regulation. These tools don't just benefit the neurodivergent students but all students in the classroom.
