My Students

Do you remember the first time you saw a butterfly? How great would it be for children to get to watch and learn about the life cycle of a butterfly?

I teach Pre-K to eighteen wonderful children.

I try my best to get the children all the supplies they need to enhance our curriculum. Most of these children come from low income families and do not get the opportunity to do hands on activities at home. It is essential that children of this age learn through many different strategies.

My Project

You will help the children get to see live caterpillars transform in a nursery into butterflies. The children will be able to watch and explain the growth of a caterpillar and learn about the life cycle of a butterfly. They will keep weekly logs and draw the growth each week. They will take care of the caterpillars and butterflies by feeding them. We will read many poems, songs and read lots of books pertaining to the life cycle of a butterfly. At the end, they will be able to release them outside. They will get to put together a puzzle of a butterfly. The butterfly pocket chart will be a great visual for the children to see and help put together.

Wouldn't it be great to have children watch and learn about the life cycle of a butterfly in our classroom?

You will make that possible for the children to get 5 caterpillars and watch them transform into a butterfly in a butterfly nursery. Thank you for taking the time to read my proposal
