Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a wonderful school in Los Angeles. We are a mix of many cultures, and many students speak another language other than English at home. Over 32% of the students at our school qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.

Every day I get to support students in grades Kindergarten - Sixth both academically and socially as the Resource Specialist at our school.

My students get extra support from me, both in the classroom and in our school's Learning Center.

My Project

My students try hard every day, and because they have challenges academically and emotionally, I help them so they can find success in the classroom. I have requested two Hokki stools so my students can wiggle and move while they are learning. Many students love using a Hokki stool because it helps them focus and move while they work.

I have also requested a bundle of fidget sensory devices so my students are able to touch a device while they are working, which helps them to focus by relieving stress and anxiety.

The two timers I have requested are extra large, and will help my students keep on task. The colorful dry erase markers will help me color code the student directions and academic learning on my whiteboard, so my students can focus and easily complete tasks.

Your help donating to this project means that this year's students will be able to use these resources, and these resources will continue to be used for many years to come.
