My Project

Dear Donors Choose;

My name is Ms.Holman and I am a second-grade teacher in Harvey, IL.

I am reaching out to ask for your support in providing my 16 enthusiastic second graders with the opportunity to grow their own vegetable plants as part of a hands-on learning experience.

Beginning in April 2025, we will embark on a four-week gardening project to teach students about plant life cycles, responsibility, and the importance of sustainability. This project will allow students to nurture their own plants from seed to sprout, fostering a sense of accomplishment and curiosity about nature.

To make this project successful, we are seeking donations to cover the cost of essential supplies.

Project Timeline

Week 1: Introduction & Planting

Learn about plant life cycles and the importance of gardening.

Choose vegetable seeds and plant them in individual pots.

Week 2: Growth Observations & Care

Discuss the role of sunlight, water, and soil nutrients.

Observe changes and record observations in journals.

Week 3: Transplanting & Maintenance

Transfer healthy sprouts to a designated garden space.

Learn about proper spacing, weeding, and pest prevention.

Week 4: Reflection & Future Growth

Continue caring for plants and predict future growth.

Celebrate with a class discussion on sustainability and healthy eating.
