I am a music teacher that serves middle and high school aged students in a major U.S. city. They are teenagers with hopes and dreams --- with one major difference:

They are teenagers with special needs that include severe physical challenges, autism, learning disabilities, intellectual delays, language disorders, visual impairments and/or hearing disorders. But....they love music and they love being part of our school band or chorus.

The severe physical challenges that several of my students face make it impossible for them to play traditional instruments either in band or in music class. If I attach a flat drum to a student's wheelchair he can play it independently. A music cube would also enable a student to independently produce melodic sounds. A piano pad could be moved and positioned easily.

As you know, today's economic climate makes it impossible for the schools to supply so much of what is needed. With your generous assistance my students will be able to keep the beat and rock to it. Thank you.
