This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our scholars deserve to have the best! I have so many goals for them throughout the year to learn. They come to school every day so eager to learn about the world around them.
Like many districts across the country, we are facing budget cuts and there is just not enough money to supply resources for everything that we lost through Hurricane Harvey.
We still practice our reading skills in workstations where the students can rotate through different activities. It helps them develop social skills as well as gives them time to practice hands-on with the activities.
Scholars are still needing technology tools to invest and empower their academic mindset through literacy, math, and science. Scholars need hands-on explorations developmental tools that will facilitate their thinking/ learning. New age innovation in technology empowers my scholars and families. We must continue to teach families that education always breaks all barriers. Ninety-five percent of my scholars qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. This means that they are living either at or below the poverty level. Technology will help close the gap and create that connection with families.
My Project
Daily, our students look for pathways to become leaders in their own right. It is my task as a teacher to get them ready for college even in Kindergarten. Using technology in researching various projects will create momentum for the students to create a long-lasting practice and study skills that will have a long-lasting effect on their educational background. The use of technology can make this educational process more enjoyable and productive. As a class using technology, we will be able to make playlists of songs that can be used in the classroom or take pictures and create PowerPoint lessons or slideshows which are great visuals to engage students. Printing wall charts, posters, and classroom books or putting together a classroom album would be a beautiful addition to our classroom with these Chromebooks.
