My Students

"Although some may regard art education as a luxury, simple creative activities are some of the building blocks of child development." Grace Lynch School is not only about encouraging academic development, but encouraging the development of the whole child, in every aspect.

I currently teach 30 amazing Kindergarten scholars in Brownsville Brooklyn at Ascend Charter School.

Ascend Learning'™s mission is to develop a solution to the underachievement of economically disadvantaged children through a network of urban, college-preparatory schools. Each of my students have their own unique and dynamic personalities that collectively make up some of THE most amazing 5 year olds. In my classroom students are encouraged to embrace and share who they are as individuals while creating a classroom culture where they can learn through exploration and their peers. My scholars currently boast an class academic average of 98% in Mathematics and 92% in ELA and more than 80% of the scholars were recipients of honor roll awards in their first semester.

My Project

The sand and water table would become a great resource within our classroom as it will help students increase and develop their physical-motor, cognitive, sensory, social, speech and language development skills. Students' use of the sand/water table play supports the whole child in developing skills necessary for learning and life. Students can use the table and the Let’s Go Shopping Food Baskets for physical play, which creates a dynamic and engaging learning environment that supports cognitive development.

Donations to this project will improve our classroom by allowing these deserving scholars to be exposed to a variety of learning tools that will support the whole child in developing skills necessary for learning and life.
