This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

It is essential that Pre-K students have the ability to learn through play each day and our Dramatic Play center is an important part of learning in our classroom. My students love to visit the classroom centers each day but they absolutely adore the Dramatic Play center.

Our Dramatic Play center needs help!

Many items went missing or were destroyed over time. We need multicultural dolls, a new couch, play money, play food, writing materials, a mailbox, a learning clock, and storage for our items. What does a Pre-K child learn in a Dramatic Play center? A child learns social skills (conversating, navigating negotiations, being a good friend, sharing, etc.), social studies concepts (family, traditions, jobs, etc.), math skills (fractions, counting, identifying numbers, telling time, identifying money, etc.), literacy skills (reading and writing for a purpose, etc.), and many more important concepts that help children learn through play.

We would very much appreciate any help you can give us in improving our Dramatic Play center so my students can learn through play throughout the day. Thank you!
