Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We service middle schoolers in the South Bronx. Our students come from diverse backgrounds, residing in one of the most underserved districts in our city. They are bright, charismatic, kind, and energetic children who have the drive and passion to succeed. However, they are often faced with various obstacles like homelessness, malnutrition, mental illness, loss, abuse, and many other situations our children should not go through.

Every day they make it to school and our goal is to make it a wonderful experience.

Our children are 11-15 years-old and many have the wisdom of individuals much older. Our children are gifted, they are talented, and need the resources to excel and enhance their skills. Our children have so many extraordinary ideas, and my job is to ensure they come to life!

My Project

Each year our schools are allocated money to designate to specific areas; unfortunately, we often are in need of classroom necessities that we can not cover through traditional funding. These donations would help ensure our classroom has snacks on hand when children are hungry or fatigued. Having proper hygiene products to keep a safe and cleanly room and school supplies so that they are able to make their best works of art come to life!

The items in our cart would help create a positive learning environment that feels warm and welcoming!

Students deserve a place that is not limited but instead filled with the supplies they need to be the most successful scholars possible.
