Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Be the change you want to see in the world" A quote by Mahatma Gandhi that rings so true these days. In order to change the world my students need to be exposed to cultures other than their own, understand them, and appreciate them through a variety of materials we will use daily.

I work with 18 wonderful and diverse Pre-K children in a high need area.

Our school is becoming more diverse every year and it is our goal for the children to understand eachother and appreciate our differences. I feel by doing this as early as possible, children will be more accepting and they can, in turn, make this world a place where all people have equal rights and racism no longer exists.

My Project

I would like to bring multiculturalism into every aspect of our day in our classroom. In order for children to see their own culture represented and learn about other cultures, we need a variety of materials we use daily. We need multicultural posters, art materials, learning toys, music, cookbooks, nonfiction books, and materials to make books about ourselves to share with others so they can understand who we are and how we celebrate our culture. I strongly feel having exposure to and learning about multiculturalism at an early age can contribute to making adults who are free of prejudice and who will work to ensure all people have civil rights.

By contributing towards this worthy cause, you are helping to create a more peaceful classroom and a peaceful world.

You can help young children learn about themselves and others in a positive way. You can help my students become adults who can change the world and make it free of hate. Please donate to this worthy cause! Thank you!
