Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

It is time for our public school system to move into the future of education by ensuring all classrooms have technology. My hope is that children will learn to use technology and use technology to learn.

I work in a public school in Brooklyn.

I have fun, energetic 4 and 5 year old students who love to learn! They have many different styles of learning and engage in many hands-on experiences throughout the day to learn. In our classroom we have learning centers, where children can visit and engage in learning a variety of academic and social skills daily. They are eager to learn through technology but this is one center we are lacking.

My Project

Not all children are able to access technology easily. The one place they should have access to learn how to use technology and learn through technology is in school. In many ways technology can help children who have trouble learning in other ways. There are many apps that serve different learning styles and accommodate different learning abilities. Our goal is to have a technology center that children will access daily. They will have a timed session with a teacher to learn how to use tablets independently. Then they will choose games that will teach them the specific academics skills they need to work on in a fun way. We need 2 children tablets with the accessories necessary to keep it working and safe from damage to create a technology center that the children can use daily.

You can help my Pre-K students become technology savvy and learn in their new technology center by donating to this project!

The children will be able to access the technology center daily. They will learn important technology skills and academic concepts in a fun way. Please consider donating to this project for our Pre-K class. Thank you!
