My Students

My students are eager learners. We have a variety of cultural backgrounds in our classroom which can be challenging but also very rewarding. As kindergarteners they are very dependent on their teacher and I hold that responsibility in very high regard. I enjoy all their stories about their families, the things they like, and even hearing what they favorite animal is! As we start the year we have very special bonding times as we go over all the routines of our classroom!

My Project

I am looking for help in funding our calming corner in our kindergarten classroom. When my kindergarteners start school they are just 4 or 5 years old. Children at that age are still mentally developing their skills to handle a full day of learning. Sometimes these kids need a break! And not just lunch or gym. During the school day it is recommended that children take a “brain break” to help them collect their thoughts and feelings. One successful strategy that has been developed in many classrooms is having a safe place for the child to go where they can reflect on their feelings and improve their focus so they can return to their work in a better state of mind. The items in this project were chosen for this purpose. Please help if you can!!
