My Students

The advertisements are everywhere, "It's back to school time!" For parents everywhere that means spending a lot of money purchasing clothes, books and other school supplies for their children. Lets think for a moment about children whose parents cannot afford to purchase the necessary supplies.

My school is located in one of the poorest sections of New York City.

Ninety-eight percent of the children get free lunches every day. Parents struggle every day to send their children to school. I would like to ease some of the burdens of the parents this school year as I always do by helping them with school supplies for their children. Last school year, only 30% of the children in my class had all their school supplies. Thanks to Donors Choose I was able to provide the rest of my students with the supplies they needed throughout the school year. We had a successful school year!

My Project

The resources will help my students on a daily basis to complete their classwork. They will use the notebooks to complete their written assignments everyday. The pencils, glue and other supplies will also be of great benefit to the students in the pursuit of their education.

Donations to this project will help to improve the education of the children in my classroom.

Without the necessary supplies, my students will not be able to complete their assignments in class. Getting an education is important to these children because it is their only way out of poverty and as their teacher, it is my sincere desire to help them achieve this important goal. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.
