My Project

I love helping my students to feel successful during their speech sessions! Some students really struggle to produce sounds and having a mirror with visual cue cards depicting a mouth producing each sound, on separate cards is a really great tool! Some students demonstrate symptoms of Apraxia of speech, which makes it doubly hard- significantly harder to remember the correct place of sound production, and they struggle to say even simple words - given models by the Speech Teacher. This "Mirror My Sounds" tool will be an invaluable help to students to use in the classroom, during speech and at home, to practice their sounds, because the key to treating Apraxia is repetitive practice of sounds and words in order to increase motor muscle memory for sound production.
