Kids today are more multimedia-savvy than ever. Yet, our classrooms are not set up with updated technology. Please help my students keep up with the technological skills needed to succeed within our classroom. A LCD projector would allow my students to improve their technological skills. The LCD projector is used to display videos, images or computer data on a screen or other flat surface. Currently we use an Avery-Key connected to the T.V. screen. With 20+ students within the classroom, seeing the T.V. screen clearly is very difficult. The LCD projector will not only help my students’ developing eye-sight. It will also enable me to enrich the learning process with examples from different on-line resources in an entertaining format. Students will also be able to answer questions through teacher modeling, and class discussion in all subject areas. Sharing their work with their peers provides them with a sense of ownership for their work, and in the class. The possibilities for learning in all subject areas would be endless if my students had access to a LCD projector in the room, because it allows me to switch seamlessly from one subject to the next. With this technology, there will be less time for distractions. Fewer distractions within the class lead to students being more involved in the Learning Process. This will not only help my current students. It will also help my future students.
