My Project

Hi! I am an occupational therapist and I work with student K-8th grade at a New York City public school. My students are on the autism spectrum and many have extensive sensory needs and sensory aversions. Making our classrooms more comfortable and supportive to all learners is the goal!

Some of our students are so auditory sensitive that they spend most of their day at school covering their ears.

In return they miss out on key opportunities to interact with their environment, play and use their hands for coloring, writing, and typing. Noise cancellation headphones is a simple accommodation that can make a world of difference!

Foot swings are also so needed for our little learners who are on the go and miss much instruction because sitting is hard and they crave movement. Foot swing will help them get their wiggles out while directing their attention towards learning and instruction.

Please help us help our students learn comfortably!
