My Students

My students have been truly amazing as we embark on this new learning adventure. It must be so difficult for students, especially six-year-olds, to wear a mask all day, stay in their seats for most of the six hours that they are in school, or when learning remotely, trying to stay engaged as they stare at a computer screen all day. My students have been superstars as they take on these new challenges. They are strong, resilient, and very willing to learn!

My Project

The materials will be useful for me as I am teaching first graders remotely and in the classroom concurrently. They need to be able to hear me from all different angles. Sometimes I am facing the students in the classroom, and sometimes I am facing the students on the computer screen. They also need to see my lips as we are learning the letter sounds and learning how to read. It is also very important for them to see me smile as they come into the classroom every morning. They need to feel safe and welcome to their home away from home during these very challenging times.
