Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Having a classroom that has the supplies we will need for students to complete assignments - looseleaf, markers, pencils, highlighters, construction paper - will create a classroom that is a resource for them.

We use looseleaf for drafts of writing pieces, which include revisions and edits; during reading, students can use the highlighters to identify key details in the text; and students look forward to creating graphic novel panels on the construction paper with the pencils (both colored pencils and mechanical pencils) to depict scenes from the class novels.

These supplies will help students express their understanding of what they are reading through writing and drawing infusing our classroom with creativity and excitement.

The majority of the students are from low-income families and knowing their classroom has all the supplies they need to be able to complete classroom assignments, will help alleviate some of the financial stress their families may experience buying supplies for their children.
