Do you remember what it was like the first time you met a character who reminded you of you? My students are starting to discover characters who mirror their tough circumstances, but we need more books to feed their growing appetites!
My students come from all walks of life in our very diverse Virginia town.
We enjoy reading and writing together as well as using these skills to analyze the world around us. These students attend a large, comprehensive high school with many resources, but they don't enough books to keep them hooked on reading!
My Project
Since the school year began, it has been amazing to see students complaining about reading to complaining when our silent sustained reading time is over. Your gift will allow students to continue to see reading as a life-long, rewarding, and engaging activity.
