My Students
My students are imaginative and fun-loving kids. They come from low-income nuclear, single and/or grandparent families and have not had much experience with the world outside their small community.
During the pandemic, many of my students do not have their own iPads to access the internet.
Many students do not have notebooks to record their findings. Many students depend on teachers scheduling virtual educational trips and students record their findings on sheets of paper. Despite the hardships they are facing with school being closed, they are eager learners.
My Project
Please help me give my students composition notebooks for home and distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students are not able to leave their homes due to the quarantine in New York City. Students use sheets of paper to respond to the assignments.
My students need composition books to help them learn to organize their writing.
With Remote Learning, students are assigned readings from stories, MyOn News and Time for Kids. Students need to write responses to the stories and/or articles. Students need to learn to organize their writing.
