My Students

My students are budding young musicians who love to explore and are receptive to any style of music to which they are introduced.

My school is in the heart of a big city, and all the students enrolled in it qualify for the free or reduced lunch program.

This school demonstrates its commitment to feeding the whole child through its unwavering support of arts instruction. My music students are a very enthusiastic and inquisitive bunch, and they welcome any opportunity to collaborate with their peers and perform for their school community.

My Project

The materials will be used during the music lessons, rehearsals and performances. Having the PA system during rock band lessons and rehearsals will help the singers feel more a part of the ensemble and help the entire band learn about balance. At the performances, it will ensure that the vocalists are heard by the audience. The keyboards will open up our classes to more students who would like to learn to play piano/keyboards. They will also add a nice touch to our rock band as well as provide another avenue for musical improvisation. The instrumental method books, which are a good resource for learning technique and music literacy, will be an integral part of our strings class. They will also serve as a good source for performance repertoire.

Donations to this project will get us materials that we need to help my students build a solid musical and technical foundation and present polished performances.

In this performance task-oriented setting, I feel that my students will gain a higher sense of accomplishment through their experiences with the materials from this project.
