This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

There are more Homeless Students enrolled in our school district that you might guess. At my 3 schools, I currently have 45 students identified as homeless. They do not have stable housing. They are either living in hotels/motels, cars, shelters, couch surfing or temporarily staying with family or friends.

When families are struggling with basic needs, it is not surprising that many of the homeless students' birthdays go unnoticed.

Please help me them feel a bit special and cared for on their birthdays. I am requesting squishable toys to give to them on their birthdays this year. My hope is that they feel remembered and can snuggle with their squishable and feel emotionally safe.
