Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my Animal Rescue Club are a diverse group with big hearts. They range from Special Needs to Honors students from all racial backgrounds and income levels. What they have in common is a desire to help our four-legged friends in need.

My Project

These supplies will be used to help my Animal Rescue Club students design and construct feral colony shelters to help the colonies near our school stay warm this winter. Through this project, the students will be able to use their creativity to perform community service. It will also be used to help my students develop confidence in their ability to bring about a positive change in the world. They have been exposed to so many negative events that they could not control - hopefully helping to save some of our furry friends will help bring back a belief in their own power.
