My school is located in a low-income neighborhood with scholars from diverse backgrounds. Nearly all scholars qualify for free school meals.
Despite socioeconomic disadvantages, our melting pot of scholars possesses a positive outlook on learning.
Each child is unique and deserves quality resources and experiences that will shape their future.
We are a Title I school however, it’s often a challenge to find funding to purchase materials and resources. Basic classroom supplies are in high demand in our school, and our scholars deserve to experience high-quality education and resources.
My fourth grade integrated co-teaching classroom is comprised of both general education students and students with an array of disabilities including learning disabilities and speech and language impairments. My students learn at different paces and have a variety of learning styles.
My Project
My 4th grade Integrated Co-teaching class is comprised of students with various disabilities, including Autism, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Speech and Language Impairments and Learning Disabilities.
Research has shown that Pop It Fidget toys help students with Autism and ADHD relieve stress and anxiety and improve focusing.
Motivational Stress Balls are also effective at helping students relieve stress and anxiety and improve self-confidence after reading motivational phrases such as "You can do it."
These simple materials will impact my students both academically and emotionally and help them achieve their goals.
