This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help me introduce my class to learning through the use of technology!

I am a brand new teacher working in a high need school where 85% of our students are receiving free or reduced lunch.

I teach second grade students, however, their independent reading levels range from a Kindergarten level to a Third grade level. Within my class of 29 students, I have one student who is receiving Special Education services and another who is performing at a particularly low academic achievement level.

My Project

I am requesting a new iPad for my students to use in our classroom. These days, there are so many extremely valuable learning resources that are on the internet either on websites, or apps that can be purchased on the iPad. In my class we will be using our iPads for an assortment of math, science, and language arts activities.

Having iPads available in my classroom will be particularly helpful to one specific student.

One of these students is severely below grade level in all academic areas. Having the iPad will enable me to easily differentiate activities so that they are on his level and not too difficult. Although he will not be the only student using the iPad, I feel he could benefit from it greatly.
