Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year we have begun implementing the Thinking Classroom. Our study and research have been based off of the book, Building Thinking Classrooms by Peter Liljedahl. In his book, he talks about the amazing learning that can be done with vertical learning with groups. I have started to implement some of his techniques this year. The work that the kids show when they are in groups of 3 is amazing. I am personally astonished at the thinking that is happening.

Writing on vertical surfaces and working together has been very beneficial.

As I am implementing this way of thinking, I realized that we need more whiteboard space. I have two very ugly and old blackboards that I would like to paint over with the whiteboard paint. This paint will make any surface a whiteboard. I also would like to have an easel as another space for students to share their learning. I am also asking for more whiteboard markers and erasers for the students. This is a supply that we have run out of this year. I would appreciate it if you could help my classroom out.
