This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This year, I want to motivate my second graders with a prize wall. I will use a plastic shoe holder to display the rewards that they can "purchase" with their tickets. The prize wall saves time and space in the classroom because it hangs over a closet door. It also really helps that the students can see what they want in an organized way rather than having to look through a box of rewards for minutes at a time.
My students are highly motivated to earn tickets for our prize wall!
I give out tickets for a number of behaviors and choices, but here are some examples of some positive behaviors that I give tickets for being kind to others, helping a friend, being a good classroom citizen, persevering, and keeping their desk clean. Prizes include pencils, erasers, play dough, bouncy balls, and colorful pens! So many children will go the extra mile to earn tickets for these incentives! It will make coming to school fun!
