My Project

I would love to receive tablets in my classroom as I move toward trying to obtain a class set so that all students will benefit as soon as possible without being required to wait on an available device. Students will be able to take Accelerated Reader tests after reading a selected book, STAR Reading and Math Assessments as well as having access to available applications for enrichment.

My students love to work on tablets after reading selected books.

This truly fosters a motivation to want to read more and work toward initial small goals as well as larger goals as they experience success. Our main obstacle is simply not having enough for the entire class. Time is precious in the world of education and this would really give us more time to focus on academic skills and enrichment.

My first grade students are so very special. First grade is such a magical time and we strive to foster a love of reading at this early age. Watching them read and truly develop a love for the world that awaits them in any given book using both fiction and nonfiction text is a joy to see in my classroom. Receiving tablets for my classroom would really help us to continue moving forward with this goal in mind. Reading a book and having a tablet in hand to show what they have learned is just one way of working toward achieving that goal. My students and i would be so grateful for your support.
