Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a special education teacher in a Title One school. Our low-income students struggle financially and usually don't have the means to donate supplies to the classroom. As a special education teacher, I want to make sure my students have everything they need to feel safe and to learn. I have severe allergies and chemical sensitivities, so I require low-fragrance products, which can really add up.

Headphones, Water Bottles, Stickers, and Chewlry are non-reusable items that need to be replaced every year and are essential for taking ownership of learning.

It is so important for my students to have their own headphones and water bottles so they don't have to remember to bring them from classroom to classroom.

These items are necessary for my classroom to run smoothly. Stickers are a fantastic incentive. Chewlry is extremely helpful for my students with Autism and other sensory needs. When my students have their own items, such as water bottles and headphones, it helps them feel like they have ownership in our classroom.
