Hello! I am a passionate school-based therapist working with elementary-aged children in a low-income area. My clients encounter many barriers to services and are unable to fulfill their full potential in school due to mental health struggles, trauma, poverty, and more. I love promoting the importance of mental health in my school and I am excited to work with kids and families from diverse backgrounds. I look forward to recognizing and building upon the strengths of the children and families I will work with to help meet their goals. With your help, I can gain access to these unique supplies to help me in making my office a fun environment where kids can feel safe and excited to engage.
I am entering a new office and have little supplies which prevents me from meeting the needs and wants of my clients.
Children are more motivated to create change and learn about themselves when they feel safe and they know that time with Ms. Aivry is fun! Supplies such as the calm strips, essential oils, and weighted stuffed animal will be so helpful to a few of my new clients with sensory issues who will love to engage with these. I greatly value the importance of building meaningful, trusting relationships with my clients. Items such as the games and conversation cubes will be critical in helping children feel more comfortable and more likely to open up with me. Play therapy is another essential part of what I do, especially for kiddos who find it difficult to express and verbalize their feelings and experiences. This is why materials such as the legos, medical kit, puppets, and building blocks are in my project so that I can engage my clients in play therapy with various avenues to do this.
