Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are enthusiastic and eager leaners whose parents are hardworking and caring first and second generation immigrants who often struggle to achieve the American dream. They attend HPC which is a public school that serves a community with economic problems and unfortunately, their parents are often unable to provide extra resources like technology. As teachers, we would like our learners to have the same opportunities and experiences as students in well-off communities. These robots will motivate my students, and hence provide our students with a complete and comprehensive learning experience.

My Project

In this technological world, students lack problem-solving skills and coding will help my students develop cooperative problem-solving skills. With this Wonder Workshop Robot Wonder Pack, my students will be introduced to the foundation of coding. The use of these robots will boost problem-solving skills through a game like coding program to help the Dot Dash robots perform simple tasks. This activity will allow learners to an open-ended and discovery-oriented learning activities in which they can immediately see if their coding was successful or if they need to make adjustments through problem-solving. This project will bring learning by play to my students and will stimulate language comprehension, and increase self-esteem and self- confidence.
