Enhancing Learning & Mental Health with an iPad

Technology plays a vital role in today’s classrooms, supporting student learning, engagement, and well-being.

An iPad would provide opportunities to foster mental health, improve formative assessment, and enhance student feedback.

Supporting Mental Health

With rising concerns about student well-being, an iPad would allow access to mindfulness apps like Calm and Headspace for guided breathing, meditation, and relaxation techniques that students can use during breaks or before assessments to reduce anxiety. White noise or nature sound apps can create a calming classroom environment for students who need a quiet moment to reset.

Enhancing Formative Assessment

An iPad would enable real-time assessment through interactive tools like Kahoot! and Quizizz, helping students check comprehension in an engaging way. Digital whiteboards such as Explain Everything or Canva allow students to demonstrate learning visually, providing immediate insights that help tailor instruction to meet their needs.

Strengthening Student Feedback

Providing timely, meaningful feedback is essential for growth. The iPad would allow real-time annotation of student work through Google Classroom and Kami. Students could record video reflections or peer reviews, enhancing collaboration and self-assessment. Apps like Mote and Flip would enable voice feedback, creating a more personalized and supportive learning experience.
