Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My second grade class is made up of 23 highly motivated students that are excited to learn and grow. I teach in a diverse inner city school where many students are either immigrants themselves or the child of immigrants.

They are passionate and proud of our school community and have big dreams and goals for themselves.

From the first day school, a number of them have expressed their love for science, math, and reading. They are curious about the world and want to make a positive impact.

My Project

My students are made up of a diverse group of learners. Some of my students have ADHD and many are just very wiggly 7 year olds. Sometimes the abundance of energy that can make it difficult at times for them to focus on a given task.

Providing flexible seating will help all of my students to move and wiggle while remaining focused on their work.

It will also provide some choice in the classroom as well as the chance to easily move around and collaborate with different peers. I am excited to witness learning growth once we are able to implement flexible seating in our classroom.
