My Project

My students have been directly affected by COVID-19 because of a lack interpersonal learning and isolation, along with fear and stress caused by the pandemic. Mental health professionals use art therapy to help patients understand their feelings and experiences.

These forms of self-expression can help heal post-COVID trauma and other mental health diagnoses like anxiety and depression.

Creative expression provides a distraction, a feeling of control, a sense of accomplishment, pleasure, relaxation and relief from stress, anxiety or even physical pain. Sharing that activity with others provides camaraderie, connection and a shared sense of purpose. Creating art is simply good medicine. In order to create this creative art therapy, I am requesting a wooden mailbox organizer, various types of paper, and other art supplies.
