Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a speech-language pathologist who currently is providing distance learning speech & language therapy services to students in grades K - 5th. Many of my students come from low income families and are sharing school given devices with their sibling. My students have a variety of disabilities including autism, intellectual delays, articulation/speech sound disorders, and a variety of receptive and expressive language delays.

Our school is a low income school and with budget cuts from our state and local government I'm not able to purchase the tools and technology I need to effectively treat my students from home.

My students deserve the best therapy possible and I want to be able to provide that to them remotely.

My Project

The Osmo camera will allow me to cast physical therapy materials such as books, puzzles, games, worksheets and the magnetic alphabet letters right onto students devices in virtual therapy so that I can go beyond what is available digitally and create the most individualized sessions for my students. By printing, lamenting and using dry erase pocket sleeves, I will also be able to further customize materials that fit the needs of each student. The laptop table will ensure I am able to provide the highest quality therapy from anywhere.

Using these supplies will help me truly individualize each session so my student can achieve and surpass all their goals!
