My Students

My students have faced a multitude of challenges. They have been through the experiences of leaving school early last year, having school online, hybrid schedules, and in class learning. They are resilient and working so hard. But they experience emotions that they are not always sure how to describe or how to manage. I love that they are so willing to listen, share with others, and want everyone around them to feel comfortable and happy.

My Project

The books will help students to understand their emotions, feelings, and actions in a safe, non-judgmental way. They can read about other children's situations and see what choices they made as well as the consequences that followed, both good and bad. Young children can learn by example from reading about others.

Objects and puzzles can help children to have an outlet for their emotions.

Sometimes they just need to have a comfort object to keep their hands busy while they are listening, formulating thoughts, and speaking. Puzzles help students to focus their energy and learn patience, perseverance, and team work.
