My Students

Our school is brand new this year. The students come from diverse backgrounds. The many cultures represented in our school strengthen our community of learners.

My students are hard-working and love to learn.

They come to school every day with great attitudes, ready to take on new challenges.

Ours is one of the first STEAM schools in our district. Our goal is for our students to be confident in the areas of science, technology, engineering, art and math. We aim towards integrating these areas in all subjects.

My Project

The International Literacy Association 2018 Conference has hundreds of peer-reviewed sessions and workshops that I will have access to. The conference is packed with two full days of learning. Each session I choose to attend will directly impact the learning of my students. Sessions are all literacy based. I will learn new strategies to help my student become better readers and writers. Sessions are research-based so I know the knowledge I gain will make a difference.

I will bring what I learned back to the classroom next year and apply them to my teaching.

I hope to learn strategies to help my struggling readers gain confidence.
