My Students

Hello! I am the proud teacher of 16 extremely bright 2nd graders in the Gifted and Talented Program at a Title 1 school in Manhattan.

My class is extremely diverse and we embrace our differences!

We come from all over America, The Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, South Korea, Italy, Ethiopia, Finland, Germany, and Guyana.

My student leaders LOVE to read, write, and do math, but they especially love science and social studies. They are artistic, musical, athletic, and all-around stars. Our library and read aloud area is where we have the most fun!

My Project

My students absolutely love to read and are always book shopping in our library. Our current bins are very narrow, bland-colored, old, and fall over whenever they are on the table and they are in tall shelves that make access to the books limited.

We would love to brighten up our classroom by getting some bright, colorful, and sturdy bins for our makeover library.

We would like this 2-tier book shelf so it is easier for us to book shop from the rug learning area.

We are a 7-Habit school and we have leadership binders to showcase our learning work, community work, and celebrations. This flex storage shelf would help display our leadership binders in a beautiful way that is easy for the kiddos to access and maintain.

The magnetic organization dry erase boxes will help my inquisitive students know the objectives of the day for each subject.

These items will really help organize and brighten up my library, which will foster an environment where students continue to love to read and borrow books from my library.
