My Students

My students are from a Title I school near Salt Lake City. They are excited about using technology while they learn problem solving and thinking skills. One group volunteers to come before school four times a week to learn coding and problem solving.

Students who have a deep understanding of technology and how to use it will have greater career opportunities as they get older.

My kids are interested in learning how computers and technology work. They are very motivated to learn both how to use technology and to make it work for them.

My Project

We have a robotics and problem-solving class in our school, as well as a FIRST LEGO league team. These items will help both groups build and program/code robots. This involves students in third through sixth grade.

Understanding engineering and coding are 21st century skills for 21st century learners.

These students will build the robot with motors and sensors and learn to program or code the robot to detect color and follow lines. The students will then use problem-solving techniques to modify and improve the way the robot is built and the way the sensors are placed to make it more effective.
