Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school aims to create a strong sense of community and understand the diverse needs of its students. Currently our school is made up of grades pre-K to fifth. Therefore, our school community has a wide range of academic, social, and emotional needs that teachers, counselors, and administration must meet daily. Our students live in a low-income neighborhood and have very limited access to resources and supplies.

As a staff we want to celebrate all our students by providing a school store with supplies that can meet and support students’ academic, social, and emotional needs.

What makes our store unique is we will offer a variety of social and emotional supplies, such as sensory items and fidgets. These items have been proven to help students calm down and focus on learning. The store will also provide learning supplies that align with students' personal interests, which will support their academic needs while increasing motivation to learn.

The goal is to increase motivation to attend school and support their academic and emotional needs in the classroom. Donations are greatly appreciated to help make this dream a reality.
