My Project

One of the things I take the most pride in teaching is creating a classroom environment that serves as a second home for students. I do this by keeping a steady supply of their favorite candies when they need a pick-me-up which you can help provide. I also do this by rewarding their hard work with stickers (high school kids LOVE stickers) or fidget toys that help them manage their anxiety.

Another thing that goes a long way to students being comfortable in the classroom is keeping it clean and having supplies on hand that they know they can grab whenever they need.

This includes things like lotion a fork or a spoon at lunch.

These items go a long way to supporting my student's mental health by allowing them to feel comfortable, seen, and supported in a space outside of their home. None of the items I am looking for are groundbreaking on their own but over the years they are what have allowed me to create a space where students know they are always welcome and can thrive.
