Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from a low-income area that has a great community with lots of support. They work hard for themselves and for their families. Many live in situations where they are in one home with over 4 families living together, yet they come to school every day ready to learn and grow.

Our school does as much as it can to help and assist the families of our students and we strive to make a better future for them to live in.

My Project

Our portable classrooms are outside and sometimes people come when school is out of session and force open the windows to steal what they can reach or throw around what they don't want. It can scare the students to see this when the police need to be called. whenever this happens our class is delayed until the investigation is over. We broke the few brooms we had to make small window blocks, but they won't hold forever. Please help us to keep our school safe and secure. Our students need to feel that school is a safe place where they can learn freely.
