My Students

Creativity, imagination, problem solving, and collaboration are key components to authentic learning in our classroom. I have high expectations for every student. It is my responsibility to provide a variety of learning opportunities to help each child meet or exceed their goals. Our school is a K-2 school with approximately 1,000 children enrolled.

We have a diverse population of ethnic backgrounds, a growing ELL population, a high percentage of students who need accelerated learning opportunities, and students who need reading and math interventions to help them establish a firm foundation for successful learning.

My Project

Covid-19 and the Delta variant cases are slowing increasing, and my students' families don't have the option to get the vaccine for their children since they are younger than twelve. After researching ways to improve the air quality in our classroom, I read about this specific HEPA air purifier and how it can help reduce certain airborne viruses, bacteria, and mold spores. Since Covid-19 spreads by latching onto particles in the air, this purifier can help trap harmful particles and prevent them from circulating in our room. The items I am asking for can provide an other layer of protection for us during the school day.
