This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What do I love about my students? First and foremost, I love their individual personalities, passions, strengths, and challenges. I have the pleasure of working with many students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. "If you know one person with ASD, you know one person with ASD!"

I truly enjoy getting to know each and every one of my students.

One thing that all of my students have in common is their love for feeling accomplished. They work hard, and I am constantly reminding them of how far they've come.

My love for my students fuels my passion to be a dedicated educator and speech and language therapist who provides for my students to the best of my ability each and every day.

As the months of the school year go on, I am consistently amazed and filled with pride at all the progress they continue to make.

My Project

This project will help me back individualized packets for each of my students so that I can avoid sharing materials during speech sessions. They will contain basics such as dry erase boards/markers, paper, and pencils.

Importantly, it will also contain some clear face masks which will help me to work on articulation skills during in person therapy and also social skills such as recognizing facial expressions with my ASD students.

This year will be ever changing, but one think I know for sure is I want to make every effort to keep my students germ-free while also benefiting from in-person therapy.
