I teach 2nd grade in Staten Island, New York City. I teach a mixture of children including children receiving resource room services as well as gifted children.

My classroom has 2 computers and the school doesn't provide programs that encompass all curriculum areas. So if the children want to work on the computer on reading and math, they must use 2 different programs switching the CDs back and forth. Jumpstart Advanced not only encompasses reading and math, but all other curriculum areas as well. I also need some sturdy headphones as I have been buying the ones from the dollar store and they do not last and rip easily.

If I receive the program for my students, they will benefit everyday. These programs provide practice and enrichment in all subject areas including math, reading, science, social studies, music, and more. I can also differentiate instruction as the games on the program come in different levels. The headphones will also be a great improvement so the children do not have to wear hard plastic headphones since the foam always rips on the ones I am buying from the dollar store. We definitely need something sturdier.
