My Students
My school is a K-5 building with over 400 students in attendance. My students come from many different backgrounds with diverse learning needs.
I was recently hired as a second grade teacher, and I want to make learning exciting and engaging for my students.
My Project
I would love to provide my students with writing activities that aren't just students working at their seats using paper/pencil. These activities will allow students to work independently and in small groups to gain a better understanding of creative writing, writing in complete sentences, and using capital letters/punctuation properly. These students have yet to have a "normal" year due to the pandemic and we are seeing a huge learning gap. Not only are students struggling with writing, but reading too. These activities can be implemented during both guided reading groups, as well as during our designated writing block time.
