My Students

I teach 7th grade English Language Arts in a Title I school in the Bronx. One hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Though my students face adverse situations and circumstances at home, I strive to create a classroom environment full of learning, a love of reading, and curiosity.

Though home is sometimes a hard place for many of my students, I try to create my classroom as a "home-away-from-home" oasis for them.

My students are eager learners, but often lack the proper resources that they deserve. Helping my students succeed is my passion, and I look forward to another year of continued growth!

My Project

Our library is in dire need of some new books! These are just a few of my students' choices, but any donation would mean the world. My students love to get their hands on good books! These books will go directly into my library for students to check out for their reading pleasure.

Every day we conclude class with independent reading, which is a special time for each student to be engrossed in a book of their choice.

However, it would be so special for the students to read the books that they have personally requested during this time of our day.
