Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Teaching in a low-income inner-city community for the past 18 years has been an amazing experience. Much of my teaching has been with third grade and above.

This school year will be a whole new experience for me and my students.

It is my first year in Pre- K and for many of the students, it will be their first experience in school. The past year has been hard for all, especially the families of NYC. It is important that these children are provided with a fun, safe learning environment where much of the learning is through play and fun activities.

My Project

My students are learning to develop their love for reading. Our pre-k library has so many great books but the students would never know it, because our classroom lacks book cases.

The students would benefit greatly from having a place to store and organize all the great books the room has to offer.

If there was a place to store and display the books the students could properly use our library during center time. It is crucial to develop a love of books and reading early on, even before they can actually read.
