My Students

My students are hard-working scholars who have opted to take my Advanced Placement courses Microeconomics. These students in our college-preparatory, public high school located in Harlem, plan to attend and graduate from college (most of them as the first generation in their family to do so) and pursue a career in medicine, engineering, business, psychology, criminology, social work, teaching, and more.

These students have big plans for their own lives and refuse to let their zip code dictate the trajectory of their lives.

They realize that education is their key to a better life and they are willing to prioritize their education. Although in most cases, my students' family situations are currently challenging and they are living well below the poverty level. They realize that a solid education is a key to financial independence and career success.

My Project

The Albert io program is a fantastic interactive program that I've used successfully in the past with my Advanced Placement students. The program offers AP-level practice questions, both multiple choice and free response.

As a study tool, this program is extremely helpful; students are able to identify their own strengths and areas for improvement.

After submission, students can see explanations. For multiple choice questions, the correct answer is explained and common misconceptions leading to the wrong answers are also explained. For free response questions, a College-Board-like rubric is provided for students to analyze their own response and ascertain how they can earn more points.]

This is a fantastic resource to help students prepare properly for the high stakes Advanced Placement exam. The students' score on this exam determines whether or not the student is eligible for college credit for the course. Proper preparation is essential. My students are taking this course to learn economics and to earn college credit which will help their college applications and save them tuition money.
